Director of Product Management (Registry)

Role Overview

Director of Product Management for Registry at Babylist. This is a dual role where you will own end-to-end product strategy and execution for the Registry experience while helping shape Babylist’s transition to AI-native product development.

Responsibilities

• Own product strategy and KPIs for the Babylist Registry end-to-end, including:
  • acquisition
  • registry build
  • gift giver conversion across 1P and 3P
  • the core Babylist Shop funnel
• Lead a team of 3–4 Product Managers as a player-coach (hire, coach, develop, and raise team operating level)
• Partner with stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment and execution of the product vision
• Use Registry insights to influence company strategy beyond the immediate product scope and communicate direction clearly to executives
• Help the organization become AI-native, including decomposition of problems for AI agents, review/refinement of outputs, and combining AI speed with human judgment
• Act as a peer builder by standing up working prototypes, testing with real families, and contributing to code when highest leverage

Requirements

• Demonstrated company-level product leadership owning complex consumer products end-to-end
• Prior experience at senior levels (e.g., Principal/Director, Sr. Director PM, or VP roles)
• Technical fluency (e.g., CS background, developer start, or a portfolio demonstrating self-taught build skills)
• Strong people leadership experience: hiring, coaching, and building a high-performing PM team
• AI-native mindset and hands-on usage of LLMs and AI coding tools in daily work
• Ability to decompose problems for AI agents and deliver with human judgment

Nice-to-haves

• Experience operating in environments where the line between “product” and “build” is blurred (early-stage context)
• Experience building prototypes to validate ideas with real families
