About the role

Role overview

Join Salesforce as the Director of Product Management (Agentforce Trust & Guardrails). This is a senior individual contributor role focused on the product strategy for ensuring AI agents operate safely in production, especially for regulated and security-sensitive customers.

Key missions

  • Own the product strategy for safe, production operation of AI agents.
  • Define how Salesforce-enforced platform controls interact with customer-configurable guardrails, including guidance for production deployments.
  • Drive product requirements for agentic safety patterns, including:
    • Prompt injection defense
    • Unsafe action prevention
    • Tool-use controls
    • Policy enforcement
    • Data exfiltration protection
    • Auditability
    • Human-in-the-loop controls

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with engineering, trust & safety, security, legal, field, and executives to define and evolve the platform.
  • Represent Salesforce’s Agentforce trust and guardrails strategy.
  • Translate customer needs and escalations into clear product requirements and scalable platform capabilities.
  • Work technically with engineering teams (e.g., prototyping, writing specs, reviewing system designs, or using code/scripts to validate hypotheses).
  • When needed, perform unscalable customer work to extract patterns that scale.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with AI trust & safety and/or agentic security (e.g., prompt injection, content safety, model behavior controls, policy enforcement/guardrails).
  • Strong understanding of modern AI agents, including LLMs, tools, retrieval, permissions, orchestration, memory/context, and runtime decisioning.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders across engineering, trust, security, legal, field, and executive teams while maintaining strong product judgment.
  • Comfortable with technical execution alongside engineering: specs, system design reviews, and technical validation.
  • 8+ years of product management experience in enterprise software, security, AI platforms, developer platforms, or regulated SaaS.
  • Related technical degree required.
  • Precise communication and ability to explain complex AI/security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice-to-haves / additional signals (from the posting)

  • Experience building or managing products involving AI agents/LLM safety, content moderation, identity/security controls, policy engines, evaluations, red teaming, or enterprise governance.
  • Experience in regulated industries (healthcare, financial services, public sector, telecom, critical infrastructure).
  • Experience with enterprise security and deployment patterns such as OAuth, mTLS, Private Connect, private networking, tenant isolation, regional inference, or zero data retention.
  • Startup / zero-to-one experience.
  • Served as a bridge during high-stakes trust/safety/security/compliance escalations between strategic customers and engineering.
