Role overview

As Director of Product & Engineering – Operations (m/f/d), you lead a growing part of Mews’ Front of House engineering organization. The focus is scaling a guest experience platform to deliver personalization across millions of interactions while keeping delivery fast, systems healthy, and teams capable of moving confidently.

What you’ll do

• Direct engineering teams across guest recognition, personalised experiences, automation, and role-aware workflows, building clarity, accountability, and a high-performance culture through managers and senior engineers.
• Set engineering direction to balance speed, quality, and long-term scalability across a cross-product area.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Data, and other engineering directors to translate long-term strategy into execution.
• Raise the bar on engineering excellence and operational health, creating structural and cultural changes that help the organization move sustainably fast.

Requirements

• Experience building engineering organizations through scale and ambiguity.
• Proven ability to develop managers and lead by setting direction rather than writing code.
• Track record of enabling teams to deliver high performance while maintaining system health in complex, cross-product environments.

Nice to have

• Experience in personalization/guest-journey domains or large-scale data-driven platforms (implied by the role’s focus on guest recognition and personalization).
