Director of Practice – Market Vets (ivc / IVC Evidensia)

Lead and grow two closely located veterinary practices by balancing people leadership, operational excellence, and commercial performance. The role has overall responsibility for operational, commercial, and people performance, with close partnership alongside Clinical Directors.

Clinical background not required—the focus is on leadership capability and delivering strong operational and commercial results.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive operational, commercial, and financial performance of the practices in partnership with Clinical Directors.
• Drive business growth through strategic planning, continuous improvement, and effective management of practice performance and budgets.
• Lead, engage, and develop a high-performing team culture (team of 40+ across reception, administration, client care, veterinary, and nursing).
• Ensure delivery of exceptional clinical standards, regulatory compliance, and outstanding client/patient care across all locations.
• Champion a safe, compliant, and collaborative working environment and support implementation of company goals and best practices.
• Take ownership of full P&L, annual business planning, and budgetary performance.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a senior leadership role with accountability for operational and commercial performance.
• Strong financial and business management skills, including planning and P&L oversight.
• Ability to lead, engage, and develop multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience leading through change and driving transformational initiatives.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.

Working pattern / location

• 40-hour Monday–Friday role.
• Flexibility between 8:30am and 6pm.
• Spend time across both practices, located close to one another in South Molton, Devon (England).

Salary

• Up to £45,000 (DOE).
