Director of Finance

Role Overview

Director of Finance reporting directly to the CFO. You will own FP&A and help shape InfluxData’s financial strategy, acting as a bridge between financial data and executive decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Financial Planning:
  • Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes
  • Deliver clear, data-driven insights to the CFO and Board
  • Improve predictability, accountability, and strategic alignment across the organization
• Business Partnership:
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership (provide the "why" behind the numbers)
• FinOps & Cloud Infrastructure:
  • Own financial leadership for cloud spend
  • Partner with Engineering and Cloud Operations to analyze cost drivers and optimize spend
  • Manage cloud vendor contracts and secure optimal commercial terms to improve gross margin
• Revenue Operations:
  • Partner with Sales on deal strategy and governance
  • Guide pricing/negotiations, approve deals, and optimize for revenue quality and margin
  • Collaborate on incentive-aligned compensation plans, quotas, and sales productivity insights
• Business Intelligence & KPIs:
  • Build and maintain dashboards for core KPIs and unit economics
  • Track operational efficiency and performance metrics
• AI & Finance Analytics:
  • Use AI and advanced analytics to improve forecasting and automate finance workflows
  • Make finance operations more scalable and insight-driven
• Executive Support:
  • Support the CFO on board materials, executive QBRs, investor reporting, and vendor contract management

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
• 15+ years progressive experience in FP&A and Finance Operations (private and/or public companies)
• Strong knowledge of AWS, GCP, and/or Azure pricing models and how infrastructure choices impact COGS and margins
• Detail-oriented; proven ability to build accurate, scalable financial models and ensure data integrity
• Experience applying AI-driven insights and advanced analytics to streamline planning and reporting
• Strong strategic thinking with the ability to dive into granular execution in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills; translate complex finance into narratives for non-finance stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or CFA
