Director of Engineering

Role overview

Join the Platform Engineering team as Director of Internal Platforms and Developer Experience. You will define and drive platform engineering strategy, lead multiple engineering teams, and own the vision for developer experience (DX). You will also establish AI enablement strategies and set standards for reliability, scalability, and security.

Key missions

• Define and drive the platform engineering strategy across infrastructure, developer experience, and AI enablement.
• Lead and grow multiple engineering teams responsible for:
  • Central infrastructure
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Container orchestration
  • Cloud services
• Establish and oversee AI enablement strategies, including:
  • Evaluation, integration, and governance of AI-assisted development tools/frameworks.
• Partner cross-functionally with product engineering, security, data, and architecture leaders.

Responsibilities (implied)

• Build internal tooling and self-service platforms that improve developer productivity and satisfaction.
• Create platform standards and operational practices for reliability, scalability, and security.
• Set organizational guardrails and policies for emerging AI technology without blocking innovation.

Requirements

• Strong developer experience mindset; platform-as-a-product approach.
• Expertise in modern platform/infrastructure tooling with hands-on experience across:
  • Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Containers: Kubernetes (k8s)
  • CI/CD: GitHub Actions and Argo CD
  • Infrastructure-as-Code: Terraform / Crossplane
  • Observability stacks
• Deep technical background with strategic leadership.
• Operational excellence: managed infrastructure budgets, vendor relationships, and capacity planning; disciplined headcount and resource allocation.
• Cross-functional partnership skills across product, architecture, security, and business stakeholders.
• AI-assisted development fluency; experience leading thoughtful adoption of AI coding assistants/LLM frameworks.
• Governance-minded approach: design guardrails and partner with security/legal/compliance.
• Excellent communication from individual contributors to executives.

• 10+ years software or infrastructure engineering
• 5+ years managing engineering teams
• 2+ years leading managers or multiple teams simultaneously
