Director of Engineering (Cloud & Reliability)

Role Overview

Join Boulevard as the Director of Engineering (Cloud & Reliability). You will lead an infrastructure transformation and establish reliability practices to evolve the platform into a scalable, secure, highly available environment supporting rapid growth.

Key Missions

• Lead the transformation of Boulevard’s infrastructure into a scalable, reliable, secure, and highly available platform.
• Drive the technical strategy for cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices, and platform capabilities, aligned to business goals.
• Architect and implement modern infrastructure practices, including:
  • Containerization
  • Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
  • Advanced CI/CD pipelines
  • Comprehensive observability systems

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of infrastructure and reliability engineers (5–15 engineers).
• Partner with Product Engineering, Data Engineering, and Platform Services to enable technical initiatives.
• Transform CI/CD and enable fast software delivery, including GitOps practices.
• Establish monitoring, observability, and alerting strategies to improve reliability.

Requirements

• Deep experience with AWS services including EKS, RDS, VPC, IAM and infrastructure automation using Terraform.
• Proven experience migrating applications to Kubernetes / EKS and implementing container-based architectures.
• Experience implementing monitoring and observability with Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana, including alerting strategies.
• 10+ years in cloud infrastructure and platform engineering.
• 5+ years leading infrastructure teams of 5–15 engineers.
• Strong experience transforming CI/CD pipelines and implementing GitOps.
• Strong background in security practices and compliance frameworks: PCI, HIPAA, SOC 2, plus security automation.
