About the role

Role Overview

The Director of Engineering is a senior leadership role responsible for unifying multiple engineering disciplines into a cohesive, high-performing organization. You will lead Engineering Services (CRM/ERP and technical documentation), Call Systems Engineering (core calling platform and endpoint integrations), and Data Engineering, ensuring secure, scalable solutions aligned to business priorities.

What You Will Do

  • Provide vision, direction, and cohesion across Engineering Services, Call Systems Engineering, and Data Engineering.
  • Translate enterprise architecture into technical execution plans balancing innovation and operational stability.
  • Lead disciplined portfolio management to ensure teams execute only approved initiatives.
  • Establish an engineering culture focused on accountability, quality, and cross-organizational partnership.
  • Act as connective tissue between engineering domains to enable clear communication and effective handoffs.
  • Partner with Product, Operations, Customer Experience, Marketing, Finance, and Compliance to reflect organizational priorities in engineering outcomes.
  • Drive modern delivery practices: CI/CD, automated testing, DevSecOps, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Oversee integration and development involving Salesforce, NetSuite, and other business systems to improve automation.
  • Ensure platform maintenance and integrations meet reliability, scalability, and security needs.
  • Direct endpoint development (hardware/software) for high-quality, user-friendly, accessible products.
  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture and security/compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with DevOps, IT, and Systems Administration on deployment, monitoring, and support while keeping teams focused on product innovation.
  • Oversee technical design, estimation, planning, testing, and release management processes to maintain predictable delivery.
  • Reinforce disciplined practices across CI/CD, code quality, documentation, testing rigor, and incident-free releases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering (or related); Master’s preferred.
  • 10+ years managing engineering implementation across SaaS platforms, business systems (Salesforce, NetSuite), and integrated cloud environments.
  • 5+ years telecommunications knowledge, including VoIP and networking.
  • 6+ years leading people/teams, including distributed/remote teams.
  • Hands-on leadership in endpoint development and software/platform maintenance.
  • Strong cloud background (AWS preferred), CI/CD pipelines, and scalable system design.
  • Experience with multiple programming frameworks (e.g., Java, Node.js, Python, PHP, or similar).
  • Database familiarity (SQL mentioned; exact platforms not specified).
