Director of DevOps

Role overview

Lead and scale Reveleer’s DevOps and platform engineering capabilities. You will set direction while staying close to execution, ensuring cloud infrastructure, delivery pipelines, and observability enable reliable, scalable, efficient product delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers; set clear goals and foster a collaborative, high-performing culture.
• Own and evolve cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Drive measurable improvements in reliability, availability, and operational efficiency, and own/improve engineering delivery metrics.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, Data, and Security to standardize how software is built, deployed, and operated across the company.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading DevOps/platform teams in a cloud-first environment, while remaining hands-on.
• Strong networking and cloud networking knowledge: VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, load balancers, DNS, VPN/Direct Connect.
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration; experience running production EKS clusters.
• Familiarity with web application architecture: databases, message queues, serverless/event-driven architectures, caching; ability to identify and resolve performance constraints.
• Demonstrated experience guiding and leveling up DevOps/cloud/software engineers.
• Infrastructure-as-Code: Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Strong hands-on AWS proficiency: EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, IAM, VPC, S3 (and related services).
• 8+ years in DevOps/infrastructure/SRE, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Experience with observability tooling for logging, monitoring, alerting, and incident management (e.g., New Relic/Datadog).
• CI/CD experience, preferably Bitbucket Pipelines (or similar like GitHub Actions/GitLab CI).
• Current experience using Kubernetes + IaC/automation to implement scalable cloud architectures.
• Scripting proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, etc.).
• Experience with FinOps / cloud cost optimization.
• Hands-on software development background; experience writing and shipping production code.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior success improving engineering delivery metrics and operational efficiency with observability and automation.
