About the role

Role Overview

Lead Cohere’s Corporate Communications function as Director of Corporate Communications. You will build the team and strategy, align communications with organizational goals and brand positioning, and serve as the central communications hub for executive leadership and cross-functional partners.

Key Missions & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive Corporate Communications strategies aligned with organizational goals, values, and brand positioning.
  • Build and lead a team of eight across Corporate Communications functions, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Partner with executive leadership, People Operations, Product teams, and external stakeholders to create clear, compelling messaging and materials.
  • Oversee and manage crisis communications.
  • Support business priorities through strong cross-functional communication planning and execution.

Requirements

  • 12–15 years of in-house corporate communications experience, ideally in a fast-paced, high-growth tech or AI environment.
  • High creativity and strong storytelling skills across format, channel, and narrative.
  • Experience thriving in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with ruthless prioritization.
  • Ability to navigate organizational dynamics and build relationships across all levels.
  • Experience with policy and regulatory communications.
  • Strong organization and process orientation, with project management skills and a bias for action.
  • Experience in pre-IPO communications.
  • 5+ years people management experience.
  • Experience acting as a communications business partner/trusted advisor to senior executives and HR/People teams.
  • Exceptional writing ability and talent for distilling complex topics into simple, compelling narratives.
