Director of Business Development

Role Overview

Lead national business development efforts for utility-scale renewable energy EPC projects across the U.S. Own strategic growth initiatives, build executive relationships, and drive the full sales lifecycle from pursuit through contract award.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a national business development strategy for renewable energy EPC projects.
• Identify, qualify, and pursue new opportunities with developers, IPPs, utilities, C&I customers, and other strategic partners.
• Build and maintain relationships with key industry decision-makers.
• Lead proposal strategy, contract negotiations, and customer engagement through project award.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, estimating, and operations to shape competitive project solutions.
• Represent the company at conferences, customer meetings, and networking events across North America.
• Manage pipeline, forecasting, CRM reporting, and strategic account planning.

Requirements

• 5+ years of business development experience in renewable energy, EPC, utility infrastructure, or electrical construction.
• Proven ability to win large-scale infrastructure and renewable energy projects.
• Strong market knowledge across utility-scale solar, BESS, substations, transmission, and related power infrastructure.
• Experience negotiating commercial agreements and building long-term customer relationships.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and executive relationship management skills.

Nice to Haves

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred); MBA (plus).
• Midwest or East Coast location preferred (though the role is remote across the U.S.).
