About the role

Role Overview

Director of Business Development (Data Center Direct Sales Focus) is a high-visibility individual contributor sales role owning direct revenue into the data-center ecosystem. You will drive the full sales cycle for high-reliability, high-efficiency power-conversion and electrification solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary commercial interface to hyperscale compute power buyers; own the end-to-end sales cycle from first technical discussion through multi-year, multi-million-dollar framework agreements.
  • Build and leverage a personal network across NVIDIA, AMD, Broadcom, Intel, hyperscalers, and their ODM/EMS partners.
  • Prioritize candidates with warm introductions and a proven book of business in the target customer set.
  • Translate complex data-center power-architecture challenges (e.g., 48V to point-of-load, liquid-cooling integration, rack-density roadmaps, energy-efficiency mandates) into compelling value propositions.
  • Partner with application engineering and product management to influence product roadmaps and secure early design wins.
  • Represent the company at major industry events (e.g., OCP Summit, Data Center Dynamics, NVIDIA GTC, Supercomputing) and maintain thought-leadership visibility.
  • Deliver aggressive quarterly/annual targets and build a multi-year qualified pipeline to support 100%+ YoY growth in the data-center vertical.

Required / Desired Experience

  • 10+ years of direct sales or business development selling power electronics, thermal systems, rack-scale hardware, or related high-value products into data centers and/or semiconductor OEMs.
  • Ability to credibly discuss data-center power and thermal requirements, including power-electronics topologies, SiC/GaN devices, 48V distribution, and immersion/liquid-cooling.
  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field (non-engineering candidates are considered if deeply technically fluent).
  • Hunter mentality with a documented track record of breaking into new strategic accounts and exceeding multi-million-dollar quotas.
  • Strong existing relationships / transferable book of business at NVIDIA, AMD, and/or major hyperscalers is strongly preferred.

Skills

  • High emotional intelligence; ability to convert engineers into champions and executives into long-term partners.
  • Self-directed, remote-capable, and collaborative across functions.
  • Willing and able to travel 40–50% (domestic and occasional international).

Location / Travel

  • Remote within the continental U.S. (lower 48), with proximity to a major airport.
  • Travel: 40–50%.
