About the role

Role Overview

Director of Business Development – Data Center & Mission Critical

  • Remote, U.S.-based (Central and Southern U.S. preferred—especially Texas, Ohio, and surrounding markets)
  • ~50% travel for client visits, job sites, conferences, and industry events
  • Hands-on leader (initially an individual contributor) building enterprise relationships, developing pipeline, and closing large infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Generate new revenue and land new enterprise accounts
  • Build relationships with hyperscalers, data center operators, general contractors, developers, and mission-critical customers
  • Sell construction and infrastructure services across multiple business units
  • Develop opportunities via direct and partner-driven channels (e.g., GC/developer/partner ecosystems)
  • Manage and close large, complex projects consistently
  • Represent the company at customer meetings, job sites, industry events, and conferences
  • Help shape and scale the sales organization as the division expands

Primary service lines

  • ISP, OSP, fiber, and low-voltage infrastructure
  • Rack-and-stack installation and deployment
  • Edge-computing infrastructure

Requirements

  • Director-level business development or sales experience in data centers, mission-critical construction, telecom infrastructure, or EPC services
  • Proven track record of generating significant annual sales in construction/infrastructure services
  • Experience selling multiple infrastructure service lines
  • Strong existing relationships with hyperscalers, general contractors, developers, and/or data center operators
  • Demonstrated ability to win multiple enterprise accounts
  • Comfortable operating as a hands-on individual contributor
  • Enjoys being customer-facing and traveling regularly

Nice to Have

  • Experience selling pre-commission construction and infrastructure work
  • Business Development Managers ready to step into a Director-level role
