Director of AI Engineering

Role Overview

Join SEON as Director of AI Engineering to lead AI-driven innovation and engineering across all locations (fully remote). You will build and lead an applied research group, set the strategic direction for AI initiatives, and partner across the organization to integrate data-driven decision-making and AI capabilities.

Key Missions / Responsibilities

• Build an applied research group and set strategic direction for SEON’s AI initiatives.
• Recruit, develop, and manage AI engineering and applied AI research teams across multiple locations.
• Design, develop, and manage scalable, compliant AI infrastructure and AI product capabilities.
• Collaborate with other departments to embed data-driven decision-making and AI throughout the organization.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a leadership role in engineering or data science (preferably in a tech scale-up).
• Experience managing cross-locational teams.
• Cloud-based SaaS product experience.
• Strong foundation in data science and machine learning.
• Experience designing and delivering large-scale Generative AI applications in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain insights and strategy to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated hiring, mentoring, and leadership of high-performing engineering teams.
• Ability to drive projects from concept through completion in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant educational background (e.g., Computer Science/Engineering, Data Science, or related).
• Ability to develop and execute a long-term AI strategy aligned with business goals.
