Director of Accounting

Role Overview

Join Horizon3 as Director of Accounting to lead the integrity of the company’s financial reporting, accounting conclusions, and control environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the integrity of monthly financial reporting, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
• Perform the final review of the close and the reporting package.
• Own and oversee significant accounting estimates and judgments.
• Provide oversight of accounting policies and technical accounting matters.
• Oversee preparation and review of annual audited financial statements and related disclosures.
• Serve as the primary accounting partner for external auditors.
• Drive continuous improvement of the accounting function, including:
  • Strengthening controls and improving processes
  • Leading ERP implementations and finance transformation initiatives

Requirements

• Strong leadership presence; ability to translate accounting issues into business risk and communicate with senior stakeholders.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX.
• Proven ability to strengthen controls, improve processes, and lead cross-functional dependencies while maintaining technical rigor.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership across:
  • financial close
  • financial reporting
  • technical accounting
  • internal control environments
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience leading ERP implementations or accounting system enhancements.
• Experience in finance transformation initiatives.
• Experience operating in a high-growth SaaS/technology (or similarly complex) environment.
