Role Overview

Technical Practice Area Manager / Director – Transmission Planning at Lumicity. This is a remote role covering US or Canada, combining hands-on technical study work with people leadership and client engagement/business development.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical leader for transmission planning and related power system studies
• Complete studies directly (~50% hands-on) and lead a team of ~10 engineers (~50% leadership/management)
• Review, direct, and guide technical studies produced by the team
• Present technical findings to clients and stakeholders using strong written and verbal communication
• Mentor engineers and manage team execution
• Support business development and client engagement for the Power Systems Consulting practice

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in transmission planning, interconnection, or power system studies
• Leadership experience with a history of managing/directing engineers (direct reports required)
• Prior experience with utilities, consulting, ISO/RTO, or developers
• Strong understanding of transmission system planning methodologies
• Proven ability to lead teams and mentor engineers
• Excellent communication skills for client/stakeholder presentations
