About the role
Role Overview
Lead a high-impact engineering organization building an AI-powered engagement platform for higher education institutions. You’ll oversee scalable AI/ML-enabled systems that support student recruitment, retention, and career readiness, combining technical leadership with people management and product architecture ownership.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a cross-functional engineering team; foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and excellence in AI-driven product development.
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of the platform, ensuring high-quality execution aligned with roadmap priorities and business objectives.
- Own architecture and technical strategy, including:
- AI/ML integration
- scalable cloud infrastructure
- API-based system design
- Build omnichannel communication capabilities for seamless interactions across SMS, email, WhatsApp, and telephony.
- Ensure robust enterprise integrations with campus systems including SIS, LMS, and CRM platforms.
- Drive operational excellence by improving automation, reducing manual workloads, and enhancing platform efficiency.
- Maintain security, compliance, and governance practices, including SOC 2, FERPA, GDPR, and HIPAA.
- Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to align technical execution with organizational goals.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading and managing engineering teams, ideally in SaaS and/or EdTech.
- Strong technical background in system architecture, APIs, cloud platforms, and AI/ML.
- Experience delivering complex products in high-scale distributed systems.
- Cross-functional collaboration experience with product, sales, and operations.
- Strategic, data-informed mindset using predictive analytics and real-time insights.
- Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Passion for technology that improves outcomes in education/student success contexts.
