Director, Email Deliverability

Role Overview

As the Director, Email Deliverability at Postscript, you will own the strategy, infrastructure, and sender reputation that ensure customers’ emails reach the primary inbox. This is a foundational, hands-on leadership role where you build Postscript’s email deliverability function from the ground up and then scale it into a team.

Key Responsibilities

Deliverability Strategy & Sender Reputation

• Own end-to-end email deliverability strategy, including:
  • IP pool architecture
  • Domain strategy
  • Shared vs. dedicated sending models
• Design and manage IP and domain warming programs to ramp new senders safely and quickly.
• Establish and enforce authentication standards:
  • SPF, DKIM, DMARC, BIMI
  • Ensure DMARC alignment across customer domains.
• Monitor sender reputation, inbox placement, and blocklist activity; lead rapid remediation when issues arise.
• Stay ahead of evolving mailbox-provider requirements (e.g., Gmail/Yahoo/Microsoft bulk-sender rules, spam thresholds, one-click unsubscribe).

Customer Deliverability & Advisory

• Act as the senior deliverability expert for brands:
  • Audit programs
  • Diagnose inbox placement issues
  • Create remediation plans
• Lead deliverability onboarding for brands migrating to Postscript (including reputation transfer and warming strategy).
• Translate complex deliverability concepts into clear, actionable guidance for marketers.
• Own escalations with customers to protect and grow inbox placement and sending reputation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Foundation-Building

• Partner with Product and Engineering to build deliverability tooling, monitoring, and infrastructure.
• Influence the roadmap based on deliverability requirements.
• Build scalable playbooks, processes, and standards across thousands of senders.
• Establish feedback loops and visibility mechanisms (e.g., FBLs, Postmaster Tools, reporting).
• As the function matures, hire, mentor, and lead a team of deliverability specialists.

Industry Expertise & Compliance

• Maintain expert-level knowledge of the deliverability landscape.
• Represent Postscript in industry communities (e.g., M3AAWG, emailgeeks).
• Build and steward relationships with mailbox providers and industry stakeholders.

Location / Work Model

• Fully remote; can be based in the US or Canada (anywhere in the world).
