About the role
Role Overview
Own growth for FilmFreeway as a Digital Marketing Manager with end-to-end responsibility across email and paid acquisition, and partnership on SEO. This is a single-brand role focused on driving measurable outcomes from sign-ups through submissions to revenue.
Responsibilities
- Email & Lifecycle
- Own the FilmFreeway email program end to end (onboarding, submission reminders, festival deadline alerts, recommendations, re-engagement, and browse/submission abandonment).
- Build and personalize campaigns and lifecycle flows to move filmmakers from sign-up → first submission → repeat submission.
- Launch and iterate on variants; run frequent testing and optimize at pace.
- Report on email opens, clicks, and downstream submission conversion; use results to inform next iterations.
- Paid Acquisition
- Plan, launch, and optimize paid campaigns across Meta, Google (Search & Performance Max), YouTube, TikTok, and Reddit.
- Generate and test ad creative and copy at volume; scale winners.
- Leverage platform automation and smart bidding (Meta Advantage+, Google PMax) while monitoring CAC and ROAS.
- Manage budget pacing, audiences, and seasonal pushes tied to major festival submission deadlines.
- SEO (in partnership)
- Partner with the Backstage SEO team to scope, prioritize, and ship SEO projects for FilmFreeway.
- Provide brand context, briefs, and target keywords; rely on SEO team for technical/programmatic execution.
- Track organic performance and surface opportunities related to festival discovery and high-intent search.
Requirements
- Strong ownership mindset with direct impact on growth metrics (sign-ups, submissions, revenue).
- Ability to run multiple projects across channels concurrently and move quickly with iteration.
- Experience driving performance through email lifecycle and paid acquisition, with a strong testing and optimization approach.
- Strong reporting discipline focused on downstream conversion (not just top-of-funnel engagement).
Nice to Have
- Experience using modern marketing automation and testing at volume, including AI-enabled workflows.
- Familiarity with smart bidding/automation tools such as Meta Advantage+ and Google PMax.
