About the role
Role Overview
Jack Porter is seeking a Digital Experience Design Director (player-coach) to create interactive digital experiences inside physical environments. This role is focused on technology-enabled installations—not traditional website/SaaS product design. You’ll own the creative vision, quality, and execution of the digital experience from early concept through UX/UI, prototyping, development, and installation.
Responsibilities
- Lead digital creative direction for assigned projects, partnering with the VP of Design and Design Directors.
- Translate project goals into a cohesive digital strategy across interaction, interface, content, motion, and technology.
- Own digital concept development from ideation through implementation; act as the primary creative decision-maker throughout the lifecycle.
- Design and deliver intuitive, visually compelling experiences for touchscreens, kiosks, interactive exhibits, media walls, and large-format displays.
- Create artifacts such as user journeys, information architecture, interaction models, wireframes, prototypes, and polished interfaces.
- Develop visual and interaction systems that connect multiple digital touchpoints into one cohesive guest story.
- Participate in early concepting and determine how digital experiences support larger creative and storytelling goals.
- Explore concepts through sketches, storyboards, user flows, prototypes, motion studies, and other design artifacts.
- Recommend purposeful approaches across emerging/interactive inputs such as touch, gesture, sensors, RFID/NFC, projection, mobile extensions, and other technologies.
- Apply user-centered design for real-world public audiences (families, fans, students, alumni, donors, etc.).
