DevSecOps Engineer w/Secret Clearance

Role Overview

TekSynap is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer (Secret Clearance) to help develop new software solutions and modernize existing systems from monoliths to microservices running in hardened containers.

Responsibilities

• Drive the strategy and oversee the architecture for CI/CD and monitoring across technologies.
• Apply DevSecOps methodologies to support secure software delivery.
• Refactor and build solutions with application development teams that leverage CI/CD pipelines and tools.
• Guide teams through solution development and adoption of the DevSecOps approach.
• Deploy and sustain a microservices factory using COTS and open-source solutions.
• Support deployments across on-premise and cloud environments.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years Agile experience.
• 5+ years relevant experience across the areas listed above.
• Experience defining Scrum/Agile practices for large-scale clients.
• Demonstrated experience leading DevSecOps methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience implementing Test Driven Development (TDD).
• Experience driving an automated software development lifecycle toolchain.
• Experience serving as the engineer for complex technology implementations in a product-centric environment.
• Experience with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) using providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Compute Engine, or Rackspace/OpenStack.
• Scripting and/or basic programming skills to solve problems.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt, etc.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, OpenShift, Rancher, AKS).
• Experience with the following technologies:

  • DoD Approved 8570 Category IAT Level II: Security+
• Clearance:
  • Must possess IT-II / Tier 3 Secret clearance (U.S. Citizen; Secret).

Nice to Have / Additional Details

• Transition systems to microservice architectures.
• Ability to support teams remotely with periodic on-site support at Fort Belvoir.

Work Environment

• Remote with periodic meetings at Fort Belvoir, VA (driving distance from National Capital Region).
• Schedule: day shift, Mon–Fri; evenings/weekends as needed.
• Travel: <10%.
• Location: National Capitol Region.
