About the role

Role Overview

DevSecOps Engineer (Survivor Portal) to support the sustainment, monitoring, and automation of a secure, cloud-based application. You will deliver Tier 3 operational support and implement security-focused DevSecOps across multiple cloud environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 3 technical support and troubleshooting for production, test, and development environments.
  • Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines (automated builds, testing, and security scans).
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for secure/scalable provisioning in AWS GovCloud (IL4/IL5) using Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Manage containerized deployments and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Monitor performance, application health, and security posture using tools such as AWS CloudWatch, ELK Stack, and Prometheus.
  • Support incident response and perform root cause analysis.
  • Apply patches and vulnerability mitigations in alignment with DoD cybersecurity, RMF, and DISA STIGs.
  • Integrate DevSecOps automation into Agile sprint cycles.
  • Ensure adherence to Zero Trust principles and DoD IA controls.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and configuration baselines.
  • Support backup and recovery and validate operational continuity plans.

Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years in DevSecOps, system administration, or cloud infrastructure engineering.
  • Experience supporting secure cloud applications in federal/defense environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, monitor, and optimize CI/CD and containerized systems.
  • Proficiency in AWS GovCloud, Linux, and containerized deployments.
  • CI/CD experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.
  • IaC experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and automated build pipelines.
  • Understanding of DoD cybersecurity requirements, RMF, and DISA STIG implementation.
  • Experience with system monitoring, log aggregation, and performance tuning.

Preferred Certifications

  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or Associate
  • CompTIA Security+ CE (or equivalent DoD 8570)
  • CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) or DCA (Docker Certified Associate)
