DevSecOps Engineer

Role Overview

Leidos is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to help modernize and secure a global-scale multi-cloud environment supporting critical USAF mission requirements. This is a hands-on technical role across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud in a hybrid remote setup.

Primary Responsibilities

• Architect, code, debug, and mentor while developing scalable cloud-native solutions.
• Ensure best practices across architecture, development, deployment, and security.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for secure, automated software delivery.
• Implement and support DevSecOps pipelines across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and OCI.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Deploy, configure, and support applications in cloud environments.
• Support availability, scalability, and performance of cloud systems.
• Maintain virtualized and hybrid cloud environments to meet performance and security requirements.
• Implement and support automated security tooling for:
  • Vulnerability scanning
  • SAST/DAST
  • Container security
• Collaborate with developers, QA, security, and operations teams to support secure delivery.
• Follow established DevSecOps standards, processes, and best practices.

Requirements (Minimum Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s + 2+ years of applicable experience, or Master’s with less than 2 years of relevant experience.
• DoD Secret clearance required and U.S. citizenship required.
• CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent, IAT-2).
• Working knowledge of DevSecOps principles and Agile methods (Scrum and/or Kanban).
• Experience supporting/administering cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI).
• CI/CD experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• Proficiency in at least one language/scripting tool (e.g., Python, Bash, Java, Go).
• Understanding of Linux/Unix, networking fundamentals, and Git/version control.
• Strong collaboration and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting DoD/USAF cloud environments (e.g., Cloud One, Platform One).
• Familiarity with Zero Trust.
• Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, Google, or Oracle).
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK).
• Exposure to security scanning, compliance frameworks, or DevSecOps automation.

Location / Work Arrangement

• Hybrid remote; candidates must work onsite as needed.
• Preferred: near Hanscom AFB (Boston, MA) or Huntsville, AL.
