About the role
Role Overview
DevSecOps Engineer (Entry level) supporting a federal client. The role integrates security practices into modern cloud and application development workflows, working with senior DevOps, security, and application teams to maintain compliant CI/CD and cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and monitor CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates
- Integrate security scanning and compliance checks into build/deploy pipelines (SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, container scanning)
- Support secure cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP using security best practices
- Assist with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes concepts
- Monitor environments (logs/alerts), troubleshoot issues, and support incident response
- Document configurations, processes, and security controls to support audits and compliance
- Collaborate in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Learn and apply federal security frameworks such as NIST, FISMA, and FedRAMP
Requirements
- Active high level security clearance (TS)
- US citizenship and work performed within the United States (federal contract)
- 2+ years experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, systems engineering, or cybersecurity
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field
- Basic understanding of CI/CD and DevOps
- Familiarity with at least one cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Working knowledge of Linux and basic scripting (Bash, Python, or similar)
- Exposure to DevSecOps tools (e.g., SonarQube, Snyk, Trivy, Checkov, Aqua, Prisma Cloud)
- Docker and basic Kubernetes concepts
- Familiarity with NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, or other federal security standards
- Entry-level certifications (e.g., AWS Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, Security+)
- Experience supporting regulated/government environments
