About the role

Role Overview

DevSecOps Engineer (Entry level) to support a federal client by embedding security practices into modern cloud and application development workflows. You will collaborate with senior DevOps, security, and application teams to deliver secure CI/CD and cloud infrastructure aligned with federal standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor CI/CD pipelines using tools such as:
    • GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps
  • Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools like:
    • Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates
  • Integrate security and compliance automation into build/deployment pipelines:
    • SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, and container scanning
  • Support cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP with security best practices
  • Assist with containerization using Docker and orchestration concepts in Kubernetes
  • Monitor environments (logs/alerts), troubleshoot issues, and support incident response
  • Document configurations, processes, and security controls to support audits and compliance
  • Work in an Agile/Scrum environment and collaborate across development, operations, and security teams
  • Learn and apply federal security frameworks such as NIST, FISMA, and FedRAMP

Requirements

  • Active high level security clearance (TS)
  • 2+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, systems engineering, or cybersecurity
  • US citizenship required and must reside in the United States; work must be performed in the US

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field
  • Basic understanding of CI/CD and DevOps
  • Familiarity with at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Working knowledge of Linux and basic scripting (Bash, Python, or similar)
  • Exposure to DevSecOps/security tools such as:
    • SonarQube, Snyk, Trivy, Checkov, Aqua, Prisma Cloud
  • Experience with Docker and basic Kubernetes concepts
  • Familiarity with NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, or other federal security standards
  • Entry-level certifications (e.g., AWS Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, Security+, etc.)
  • Experience supporting regulated/government environments
