About the role

Role Overview

CommIT Enterprises is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer for a team in Charleston, SC (can also be remote). You will collaborate with software engineers to deploy and operate systems, automate and streamline operations, and ensure infrastructure security.

Responsibilities

Build, enhance, and maintain DevSecOps pipelines and automation for continuous integration, delivery, and security
Use strong AWS expertise (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, EKS/ECS, Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudTrail)
Create, update, and govern Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for consistent provisioning
Build, secure, and operate containerized applications using Docker, ECS, and EKS
Automate operational and security workflows using Python, Bash, or similar scripting
Perform system monitoring, performance checks, and security compliance assessments
Troubleshoot incidents with log analysis and root cause investigations to improve stability
Design and optimize secure, scalable cloud network infrastructures (routing, switching, VPNs, load balancing, capacity planning)
Monitor and maintain network operations, ensuring compliance, accurate documentation, timely incident resolution, and continuous improvement of network architecture

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related IT discipline
Master’s degree + 6 years experience (or Bachelor’s + 8 years experience) in a relevant field (degree may be substituted with additional experience and/or certifications)
Experience developing DevSecOps and CI/CD architecture for small systems/subsystems
Ability to select tools/technologies/methodologies that support automated build, deployment, operations, security, and monitoring
Coordinate across teams to remove impediments to CI/CD and improve delivery quality/reliability
Act as a Network SME, advising on and optimizing network infrastructure to support DevSecOps workflows (routing/switching/VPN/load balancing) and network performance/incident response

Nice-to-haves

Experience serving as both DevSecOps architect and Network SME for DevSecOps-enabled, secure deployment pipelines
