DevOps/SRE II (Remote, US)

Role Overview

Openly is hiring a DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer II to build and maintain the infrastructure and technology ecosystem powering its insurance platform.

Responsibilities

• Build internal tooling to help engineers and the wider company understand and operate the platform
• Design and implement security best practices for systems and infrastructure
• Reduce toil through automation, including building and maintaining CI/CD infrastructure
• Build infrastructure as code using declarative provisioning tools
• Create high-signal monitoring and alerting and help meet SLOs
• Lead incident response and write/drive postmortems
• Contribute to architectural and operational decisions (e.g., microservices vs. monoliths, deployment techniques/policies)

Requirements

• 2+ years of production experience with infrastructure automation tools/techniques
• Proven record improving stability, performance, and scalability in business-critical systems
• Ability to deliver complete systems end-to-end within a reasonable timeframe
• Understand production consequences and share knowledge with the team
• Ability to explain complex technical challenges to non-technical audiences
• Strong scripting skills in Python and/or Go
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling, preferably Terraform
• Must be authorized to work in the United States full-time; no employer visa sponsorship

Nice-to-haves / Stack Context

• Experience with monitoring/observability (e.g., DataDog)
• Container/orchestration and cloud services in Google Cloud (Cloud Run, Kubernetes, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, etc.)
