DevOps/SRE II (Remote, US)

Role Overview

DevOps/Site Reliability Engineer II at Openly, responsible for building, testing, and maintaining the technology infrastructure and ecosystem that power its insurance platform and customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Build internal tooling to help other engineers and the broader company understand and operate the system
• Design and implement security best practices for the team and infrastructure
• Reduce operational toil through automation (including CI/CD infrastructure)
• Build infrastructure as code using declarative provisioning tools
• Create high signal-to-noise monitoring and alerting aligned to SLOs
• Lead incident response and run postmortems
• Contribute to architecture and operational decisions (e.g., microservices vs. monolith, deployment techniques and technologies)

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional/production experience with infrastructure automation tools and techniques
• Proven track record improving business-critical systems (stability, performance, scalability)
• Ability to deliver complete systems end-to-end in a reasonable timeframe
• Strong understanding of production operations consequences and willingness to share knowledge
• Ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical audiences
• Strong scripting skills (in one or more languages)
