About the role

Role overview

DevOps/SRE Engineer (mid-level) to own and evolve Pathify’s infrastructure. You’ll report to the Deputy CTO and collaborate with engineering leadership and Chief Engineers to ensure the GCP environment is reliable, scalable, and secure. This is a hands-on role with meaningful autonomy, including incident management and leading SRE and reliability initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day operations and reliability for Pathify’s GCP infrastructure
  • Maintain and improve Kubernetes clusters (deployments, scaling, observability, cost)
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling
  • Consolidate infrastructure from multiple teams into a unified DevOps function
  • Mature release management and synthetic monitoring
  • Partner with engineering/support on performance, security, and incident response
  • Contribute to the roadmap for infrastructure, deployments, and platform reliability
  • Define and monitor Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Error Budgets
  • Establish and participate in an on-call rotation for production infrastructure

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering experience
  • Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform (Compute Engine, GKE, IAM, networking, Cloud SQL)
  • Strong Kubernetes production experience
  • Terraform (or equivalent Infrastructure as Code)
  • Python for tooling and automation
  • Observability experience (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Ability to work independently (scoping, prioritizing, delivering with minimal oversight)
  • Production experience at enterprise scale and ability to work core hours overlapping Mountain Time (US-based)

Nice to have

  • AWS experience
  • Background in security-conscious environments (e.g., SOC 2, higher ed, healthcare, fintech)
  • Startup or small-team experience
