DevOps Platform Engineer – US Remote

Role Overview

You will own and evolve the infrastructure and delivery systems powering the SimGate™ SaaS platform. The focus of the role is modernizing CI/CD pipelines, strengthening platform reliability, and improving observability across environments.

Responsibilities

• Own and modernize CI/CD pipelines to improve reliability and streamline code-to-production delivery
• Manage and scale Kubernetes-based cloud infrastructure (provisioning, cost optimization, operational stability)
• Build monitoring dashboards and alerts to identify issues before customers are impacted
• Participate in incident response and lead post-incident reviews to identify root causes and drive improvements
• Embed security best practices into the delivery pipeline (dependency scanning, secrets management, automated safeguards)
• Partner with engineering teams to improve deployment confidence, platform stability, and developer experience
• Promote continuous improvement in engineering practices

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering
• Strong cloud and Kubernetes expertise
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent production SaaS experience
• Proven track record improving reliability, scalability, and engineering productivity
• Strong CI/CD experience with tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience deploying and managing containerized workloads
• Proficiency with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Infrastructure-as-Code experience using Terraform, Pulumi, or similar
• Strong Linux fundamentals and scripting ability (Bash, Python, or similar)
• Knowledge of monitoring/observability platforms such as Datadog, Dynatrace, Grafana, or Prometheus
• Familiarity with security/compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 or ISO
• Problem-solving mindset and continuous improvement orientation
