About the role

Role Overview

DevOps Intern (Undergraduate DevOps Intern/Co-op) on Ada’s DevOps/SRE team. You’ll support reliability, observability, and automation for production systems while learning from experienced engineers.

Program details: 4 months (May 6 to August 28, 2026). Headquarters: Remote (Canada); location: Anywhere in the World.

Responsibilities

Support the DevOps team in maintaining and improving Ada’s infrastructure
Debug incidents, triage issues, and help resolve system failures
Work on small but meaningful projects involving AWS, Terraform, monitoring, and CI/CD
Help build scripts, automations, and tooling to improve operational efficiency
Build dashboards, alerts, and health checks using observability tools (e.g., Datadog, CloudWatch)
Collaborate with software, security, and platform engineering teams to deliver reliable services

Requirements

Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (undergraduate; 2nd/3rd/4th year)
Familiar with Linux fundamentals (shell, permissions, processes)
Basic understanding of networking (TCP/HTTP, ports, firewall rules)
Exposure to AWS (preferred) and/or infrastructure-as-code (Terraform / CloudFormation)
Curiosity, grit, and a diagnostic mindset
Strong communication skills (explain what you’re doing, why, and how)

Nice-to-Haves

Experience with Terraform
Monitoring/logging tools: Datadog, Prometheus, CloudWatch
CI/CD familiarity: GitHub Actions, GitLab, CircleCI
Basic scripting in Bash and/or Python
