About the role
Role Overview
The company is hiring a Junior Observability Engineer / DevOps Engineer with Splunk to design, implement, and optimize enterprise observability across applications, infrastructure, and cloud environments.
You will focus on monitoring, telemetry, automation, reliability engineering, and AIOps to improve visibility, operational efficiency, and service reliability.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end observability solutions across apps, infra, and cloud.
- Create dashboards, alerts, and telemetry frameworks for real-time system health and performance.
- Build automation to eliminate repetitive operational tasks.
- Enable runbook automation, self-healing, and automated incident triage.
- Define and implement SLIs, SLOs, and alerting strategies to improve reliability.
- Improve MTTD/MTTR using actionable alerts and telemetry-driven insights.
- Implement proactive monitoring, anomaly detection, and predictive alerting.
- Use AIOps for alert correlation and intelligent incident response.
- Integrate observability platforms with CI/CD, cloud services, and ITSM tools (ServiceNow).
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations to define observability standards and operational readiness practices.
Requirements
- 3+ years in Observability Engineering, SRE, or related domains.
- Hands-on experience with observability platforms: Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, OpenTelemetry.
- Strong cloud knowledge: AWS and GCP (cloud-native architectures).
- Proficiency in Python for automation and operational tooling.
- Experience implementing MELT (metrics, logs, events, distributed tracing) in distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
- Strong understanding of SLIs/SLOs, alerting, and incident response frameworks.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or related field (or equivalent experience).
Nice to Have
- Experience with AIOps and intelligent alerting.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized environments.
- Experience integrating observability tools with ServiceNow and CI/CD ecosystems.
- Relevant certifications (AWS/GCP/Observability/SRE).
