About the role
Role Overview
WalkMe (now an SAP company) is hiring a DevOps Engineer for its Cloud Engineering team. The role supports the company’s Federal business and involves building and operating the infrastructure and deployment systems for WalkMe’s runtime engine and online experiences.
Responsibilities
- Manage deployment pipelines to enable smooth, efficient software releases.
- Implement and maintain observability for system performance and reliability.
- Support local development environments to improve developer workflows.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure infrastructure matches project requirements.
- Improve infrastructure security through proactive measures and audits.
- Build and maintain automation scripts/tools to increase operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues to minimize downtime.
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve scalability, reliability, and security.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
- 4+ years experience as a DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, or similar.
- Proven software development experience (preferably at a venture-backed startup or top tech firm).
- Expertise in CI/CD and deployment automation using GitLab.
- Proficiency with AWS.
- Solid containerization and orchestration knowledge (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with monitoring/observability tools: Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana (or similar).
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools: Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience managing databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB.
- Familiarity with security best practices/tools for infrastructure and application security.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaborative mindset.
- Proactive, self-motivated approach to learning and continuous improvement.
Notes
- US Citizenship required (Federal business support).
- Sunday work as needed, with another day off during the week.
- Hybrid work arrangement (remote benefits with essential onsite collaboration).
