About the role

Role Overview

Trella Health is seeking a DevOps Engineer to help manage and improve its AWS cloud infrastructure as the company scales. The role focuses on CI/CD pipeline maturity, and improving the reliability, security, and observability of production systems across containerized workloads.

Responsibilities

  • CI/CD & Release Engineering
    • Design, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines for reliable, repeatable build and deployment
    • Increase deployment frequency by reducing build time and resolving pipeline bottlenecks
  • Cloud Infrastructure & Infrastructure as Code (AWS & Terraform)
    • Manage and evolve AWS infrastructure (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, Lambda, CloudWatch)
    • Support multi-region architecture considerations
  • Containers & Orchestration
    • Operate ECS and EKS/Kubernetes workloads
    • Build/maintain Docker images and manage container registries
    • Help teams containerize applications and migrate from server-based to container-based deployments
  • Monitoring, Observability & Incident Response
    • Maintain observability tooling across New Relic, Grafana, and CloudWatch (dashboards, alerts, log aggregation)
    • Improve instrumentation and observability coverage with engineering teams
    • Participate in on-call and assist with incident diagnosis, remediation, and documentation
  • Security & Compliance (HIPAA/SOC 2)
    • Maintain secure configurations, access controls, and audit logging; support evidence collection
    • Partner on vulnerability management, patch cycles, and security tooling
    • Enforce security best practices for provisioning, secrets management, and network segmentation
    • Respond to security findings from audits, penetration tests, or automated scanning

Requirements

  • 3+ years in IT operations, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering
  • Demonstrated scripting/programming experience (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) without using AI to understand/write basics
  • Working knowledge of IP networking, DNS, VPN, and firewall management
  • Familiarity with AWS core services: EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch
  • Understanding of relational database administration (MariaDB, PostgreSQL, or similar)
  • Linux system administration and command-line tooling
  • Basic containerization concepts (Docker, images/registries)
  • Familiarity with Git/Bitbucket

Location / Work Mode

  • Remote, with candidates within commuting distance of Atlanta, GA or Philadelphia, PA
  • May consider candidates based in other U.S. locations

  • Director, IT Operations
