About the role

Role Overview

Telestream is seeking a DevOps Engineer with proven, hands-on Kubernetes expertise to improve the reliability and scalability of its video processing infrastructure. This is a deeply technical role focused on production Kubernetes administration, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and cloud operations in a fully remote US environment.

Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and administer production Kubernetes clusters (workload scheduling, namespaces, RBAC, network policies, and cluster upgrades)
Own CI/CD pipelines and automate testing and deployment using Kubernetes-native delivery workflows (e.g., Helm + ArgoCD)
Implement and manage infrastructure, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform (CloudFormation/Pulumi as additional skills)
Optimize cloud resources to deliver cost-effective solutions
Monitor and troubleshoot systems; implement preventive measures based on performance analysis
Apply security best practices including automated compliance checks and secure deployment
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth deployments

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent
Hands-on CI/CD pipeline experience integrated with Kubernetes deployments (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent)
Production-level IaC experience (Terraform required)
Experience managing cloud Kubernetes clusters: EKS, GKE, or AKS
Kubernetes observability/monitoring experience (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK/EFK, or equivalent) with ability to build dashboards/alerts
Demonstrated production Kubernetes experience including:
- cluster administration
- Helm chart authoring/management
- RBAC configuration
- persistent storage
- horizontal/vertical pod autoscaling
- diagnosing and resolving production failures (e.g., CrashLoopBackOff, OOMKilled, networking issues)

Nice-to-Haves (from text)

CloudFormation or Pulumi
Comfort with Kubernetes delivery workflows using Helm and ArgoCD (or equivalent)
