About the role

Role Overview

DevOps Engineer (Remote) Design, implement, and maintain the cloud infrastructure that powers the Career EDGE platform. Collaborate with software developers, security teams, and product managers to automate deployments, improve infrastructure performance, and strengthen system resilience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, provision, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for safe, reliable, frequent deployments
  • Deploy, operate, and troubleshoot Kubernetes-based containerized applications
  • Automate operational workflows and reduce manual processes via scripting and infrastructure automation
  • Improve observability with logging, monitoring, metrics, alerting, and dashboards
  • Optimize systems for performance, scalability, availability, security, and cost efficiency
  • Partner with engineering teams to improve developer experience and deployment reliability
  • Participate in production incident response and perform root cause analysis; drive continuous operational improvements
  • Implement and enforce security best practices (IAM, networking, secrets management)
  • Support compliance for government environments, including AWS GovCloud and frameworks such as FedRAMP and NIST
  • Contribute to platform architecture with a focus on automation and resilience
  • Work collaboratively in an Agile/Scrum environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field
  • Practical experience designing and managing cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS
  • Hands-on Docker and Kubernetes experience in production
  • CI/CD pipeline experience using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins
  • IaC experience with Terraform and/or CloudFormation
  • Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills
  • Scripting skills: Bash, Python, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript
  • Networking fundamentals and cloud security knowledge (IAM, DNS, TLS, secrets management)
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with AWS GovCloud and compliance/security frameworks such as FedRAMP and NIST
  • Experience supporting government-hosted environments
