About the role
Role Overview
DevOps Engineer (Full Time) for Splashlight / TelmarHelixa, reporting to the SVP of Engineering. This is a remote (East Coast/NYC) role focused on taking ownership of DevOps initiatives end-to-end, optimizing and scaling infrastructure, and partnering with engineering, IT, QA, and security to deliver a secure, reliable platform.
Responsibilities
- Lead DevOps tasks and initiatives end-to-end (design through delivery) with minimal handholding
- Optimize, deploy, and manage containerized workloads using Kubernetes on AWS EKS
- Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and CloudFormation
- Enhance CI/CD pipelines using Git to automate builds, tests, deployments, and rollbacks
- Collaborate with security to remediate vulnerabilities, enforce least-privilege access, and support compliance
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues across distributed systems
- Establish and evolve monitoring, alerting, and logging for 24/7/365 visibility
- Shape the long-term technical roadmap with business and technology leadership
- Mentor junior team members and promote an ownership culture; serve as an escalation point for critical events
Requirements
- 5–7+ years of DevOps, Infrastructure, or SRE experience in cloud-native environments
- Strong hands-on AWS expertise (e.g., EC2, ElasticSearch, S3, IAM, Bedrock, EKS, etc.)
- Strong experience with Kubernetes and Git-based CI/CD
- Proficiency in Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
- Strong scripting/programming skills (e.g., Python or Bash) for automation and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of high-availability architectures, load balancing, failover, and security best practices
- Ability to own initiatives and drive outcomes with minimal supervision
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with security-first operations, compliance support, and vulnerability remediation processes
- Deep observability practices (monitoring/alerting/logging) for high-availability systems
