About the role

Role Overview

DevOps Engineer supporting the U.S. Air Force Cloud One Architecture and Common Shared Services contract. You will help modernize and operate a large-scale multi-cloud environment across AWS, Azure, GCP, and Oracle Cloud, partnering with DevOps/SRE, cloud, cybersecurity, and program leadership.

Responsibilities

Build scalable cloud-native solutions and apply best practices across architecture, development, deployment, and security
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for secure, automated software delivery
Design and operate highly available, fault-tolerant systems across:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Microsoft Azure
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
Define and monitor SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs for reliability and performance
Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, CloudWatch)
Support incident response and postmortems with root-cause analysis
Embed reliability and security into application design and the SDLC/CI-CD processes (DevSecOps)
Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to provision and manage environments (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation)
Configure and optimize container orchestration and runtime (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker)
Ensure security compliance (IAM, VPC design, encryption standards) and automate security checks (vulnerability scanning, SAST/DAST, container security)
Support capacity planning, forecasting resource needs, and capacity scalability
Maintain virtualized/hybrid cloud environments and contribute to infrastructure modernization
Produce detailed technical documentation

Requirements

8+ years of experience (Bachelor’s degree required; additional experience may substitute)
Active Secret clearance
CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent, IAT-2) certification
Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
Strong documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration

Nice-to-Haves (implied by scope)

Experience implementing DevSecOps pipelines across multiple cloud platforms
Strong operational experience with monitoring/alerting and production incident management
