DevOps Engineer

Role overview

Join Semperis as a Junior DevOps Engineer. You will learn and apply modern DevOps practices while contributing to real-world production systems, helping automate operational tasks and improve deployment pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Automate operational tasks by writing scripts/programs.
• Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines and release processes.
• Support cloud infrastructure management and day-to-day production operations.
• Operate and maintain Kubernetes clusters (AKS preferred).
• Participate in incident management and on-call rotation (with mentorship and support).
• Collaborate with product engineering, QA, security, and support as part of cross-functional delivery.

Requirements

• Cloud fundamentals with strong understanding of cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure preferred).
• CI/CD exposure and experience with at least one CI/CD tool (Azure DevOps preferred).
• Strong programming/scripting knowledge in at least one language (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell, Go).
• Basic Linux knowledge and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls).
• Containers and Kubernetes concepts (AKS preferred).
• 2+ years hands-on experience in DevOps/SRE/systems & cloud engineering (or equivalent via internships/experience).
• First-principles troubleshooting (break down to root causes).
• Clear communication skills and willingness to ask for help.
• Collaborative, continuous learning mindset.

Nice to have

• Infrastructure-as-Code experience (Terraform, Helm, or similar).
• GitOps exposure (Argo CD, Flux).
• Observability/monitoring & logging experience (Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor).
• Cloud and container security basics; security-first mindset.
• Relevant certifications: Azure (AZ-104), AWS, Kubernetes (CKAD), Linux.
• Coursework/projects related to microservices, event-driven architectures, or distributed systems.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows / Windows-based troubleshooting.
