About the role
Role Overview
The DevOps Engineer will drive DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering initiatives for a growing RegTech SaaS organization. This is a hands-on role focused on automating deployments, building infrastructure as code (IaC), and ensuring reliability, scalability, security, and performance.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain automated deployment and configuration management systems
- Develop and maintain IaC scripts for provisioning and managing infrastructure resources
- Continuously optimize deployment processes for efficiency and reliability
- Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging for service reliability and availability
- Partner with engineering teams to establish SLOs and SLIs
- Lead blameless post-incident reviews and contribute to error budgets
- Influence system design for scalability, reliability, and performance
- Design and implement high-availability systems
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines, including automated testing integration
- Collaborate with security teams to implement and monitor security best practices
- Ensure compliance with relevant infrastructure and deployment regulations/industry standards
- Perform capacity planning and address performance bottlenecks
- Create and maintain documentation, including runbooks and knowledge base articles
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in DevOps with a focus on Site Reliability Engineering (or equivalent education/training)
- Strong ability to architect highly available, fault-tolerant, scalable infrastructure using IaC
- Strong experience architecting and enhancing CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, integration, and deployment
- Ability to manage cloud and on-prem infrastructure, balancing performance, scalability, cost, and security compliance
- Ability to document infrastructure architecture and operating procedures
- Ability to provide reporting on system health, performance, and cost-efficiency metrics
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; can communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to meet attendance and tight deliverable deadlines
