DevOps Engineer

Role Overview

You will join Ripjar as a DevOps Engineer to help ensure the reliability and security of infrastructure, automate deployments and maintenance, and improve code and application security.

Key Responsibilities

• Automate deployment, operation, and maintenance of systems in a hybrid cloud environment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management.
• Administer Linux-based systems and applications (virtual and physical).
• Design, deploy, and maintain IP networking.
• Build robust automation so development teams can self-serve routine infrastructure requests.
• Contribute to incident response in a complex microservices environment.
• Improve application and cloud security by identifying threats/vulnerabilities and implementing strong security measures.

Requirements

• Experience automating tasks using Bash, Python, JavaScript, and GitHub Actions.
• Strong experience configuring, managing, and securing public cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS and/or Azure).
• Strong experience administering and securing Linux hosts on both virtual and physical infrastructure.
• Experience administering IP networking in a corporate environment.
• Experience administering containerised applications using Kubernetes and Docker.
• Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Helm).
• Experience contributing to incident response across microservice-based applications.
• Application security best practices: threat/vulnerability identification, secure system design, and implementation of security controls.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of monitoring and telemetry tooling (e.g., Prometheus, Datadog, OpenTelemetry).
• Knowledge of security testing and monitoring tooling (e.g., SAST and SIEM products).
