About the role

Role Overview

As a Mid-Level DevOps Engineer at Panopto (remote-first), you will modernize legacy build systems by building automated pipelines and improving the company’s CI/CD workflow. Your work will directly improve day-to-day engineering quality and accelerate the delivery lifecycle.

Key Missions

Assess and improve CI/CD: Evaluate the current CI/CD landscape, find bottlenecks in legacy pipelines, and implement modern strategies to speed up delivery.
Eliminate manual steps: Replace manual gates and inefficient workflows with automated, high-speed processes.
Build end-to-end CI/CD: Design and implement CI/CD pipelines that include automated testing and security scanning.
Infrastructure as Code: Transition manual setups into reproducible code using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.

Requirements

3–5 years of DevOps or SRE experience, including migrating or upgrading legacy pipelines
Expertise with CI/CD tooling such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (or ongoing professional development)
Ability to modernize older systems and scripts (e.g., XML, manual scripts)
Strong containerization experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Automation scripting/programming in Python, Bash, C#, or PowerShell
Experience transitioning from monolithic build systems toward microservices-based architectures
Experience in fast-growing environments (e.g., high-growth tech or private equity-backed companies)
