About the role

Role Overview

As a DevOps Engineer at Octus, you will design, implement, and maintain the cloud infrastructure that powers the company’s products. You will collaborate closely with Application Developers, Data Engineers, SRE, Security, and IT to automate and streamline operations, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.

Core Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment
Prioritize workload with a focus on improving developer efficiency
Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure for scalability, performance, and cost
Partner with SRE to build and maintain monitoring and alerting
Partner with Security to implement and enforce security best practices
Collaborate with developers to improve application performance and reliability
Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning/execution
Communicate with stakeholders on project status, issues, and recommendations
Join an on-call rotation for operational support

Core Requirements

5+ years experience in a DevOps role
2+ years experience with Terraform
Expert knowledge of cloud concepts/services, including: EC2, ECS, S3, RDS, A/ELB, EBS, VPC, Route 53 (or equivalents)
Expert-level Linux knowledge
Strong scripting skills for automation/tooling
Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, resolve, and document RCA for incidents
Good knowledge of database configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
Strong security principles and experience designing/implementing/monitoring controls
Extensive Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management experience (Terraform, SaltStack or equivalent)
Experience with Docker and orchestration/container platforms such as Kubernetes and/or ECS, including managing microservices architectures
Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and/or GitHub Actions
Experience with monitoring/logging tools such as Datadog and/or CloudWatch
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
