About the role

Role Overview

DevOps Engineer on Zoom Phone and Zoom Contact Center DevOps team (Engineering Operations). You’ll help design and operate resilient VoIP infrastructure and troubleshoot issues across architecture, CI/CD flows, and containerized environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, high-availability VoIP infrastructure and services on cloud or colocation platforms
  • Build, operate, and optimize Kubernetes (K8s) clusters for containerized apps and microservices
  • Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) to automate build/test/deploy workflows
  • Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools such as Terraform and Ansible for provisioning and configuration management
  • Troubleshoot complex issues in VoIP systems including SBC, FreeSWITCH, and related infrastructure components
  • Manage production monitoring, alerting, and fault analysis to support rapid incident response
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and product to deliver reliable services
  • Continuously evaluate and integrate new DevOps and cloud-native tools to improve automation and scalability

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
  • Experience designing and managing AWS infrastructure (e.g., EC2, VPC, EKS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI) and IaC (Terraform or Ansible)
  • Expertise in Docker and Kubernetes (containerization and orchestration)
  • Strong Linux systems administration and network configuration experience
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms including AWS, OCI, and GCP
  • Understanding of networking and security for VoIP such as SIP, RTP, NAT traversal, load balancing, firewalls, and encryption
  • Practical experience with monitoring/observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog)
  • Ability to work across time zones; occasional weekend work may be required
