DevOps Engineer (Kubernetes)

Role Overview

You’ll join an early founding team as a DevOps/Platform Engineer (Kubernetes) to build and extend a cloud-native platform that makes multi-cluster Kubernetes management intuitive for developers.

Responsibilities

• Build and extend core platform features using Go, including custom Kubernetes operators and controllers.
• Design and implement GitOps workflows using Argo CD to automate continuous deployment.
• Create infrastructure-as-code patterns with Terraform and Helm to provision and manage clusters.
• Work with distributed storage solutions such as Ceph and WEKA.
• Build observability/monitoring for cluster health and performance using Prometheus and Grafana.
• Implement and optimize container networking using Cilium (network security and observability).
• Design federated Kubernetes architectures for multi-cluster management.
• Create automation tooling to reduce operational overhead for developers running production workloads.
• Contribute to open-source components and help establish platform architecture patterns.

Requirements

• 2+ years of software development experience.
• Strong Go and Kubernetes skills, with hands-on experience building developer tools or infrastructure products.
• Experience with Argo CD, CI/CD pipelines, and automation workflows.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their managed Kubernetes offerings.
• Experience with containerization, networking, and cloud-native architectures.
• Self-directed, comfortable working with autonomy.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Ceph or WEKA.
• Experience with Terraform, Helm, Ansible, or Kubespray.
• Background with service mesh (Istio, Linkerd) or CNI plugins.
• Contributions to Kubernetes ecosystem tools or open-source projects.

Location / Work Mode

• On-site in San Francisco, CA; candidates must be able to work in person.
• Visa sponsorship available.

Compensation

• $150,000 – $200,000 USD annually
