DevOps Engineer, Jr.

Role Overview

Join the cloud operations and platform engineering team as a Junior Azure DevOps Engineer. This is a full-time remote role where you’ll support deploying, monitoring, and maintaining Azure-based infrastructure and applications, with a focus on automation and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Support deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Azure cloud infrastructure
• Monitor and troubleshoot Azure services, including VMs, networking components, and hosted applications
• Help manage Azure Storage and Azure Compute and assist with resource provisioning
• Participate in infrastructure troubleshooting and root cause analysis (prod and non-prod)
• Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and documentation
• Manage and support Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments
• Configure and maintain Azure Key Vault for secrets and certificates
• Assist with Azure Application Gateway, Traffic Manager, and Load Balancer configurations
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Azure Bicep templates
• Automate deployment/operations using scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python)
• Assist with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions
• Support application deployment automation, release management, and environment provisioning
• Provide basic SQL Server support (query writing and troubleshooting)
• Support IIS and Windows Services troubleshooting
• Assist with security and identity management using Active Directory and IAM concepts
• Support networking troubleshooting (DNS, TCP/IP, routing, load balancing)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/Engineering (or equivalent practical experience)
• Foundational knowledge of Microsoft Azure
• Experience with Azure DevOps methodologies and infrastructure support
• Familiarity with AKS, Azure Key Vault, Azure Storage, and Azure Compute Services
• Familiarity with Azure Application Gateway, Traffic Manager, and Load Balancer
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Azure Bicep
• Understanding of Azure DevOps pipelines and release management
• Experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions
• Basic SQL Server admin and query-writing skills
• Knowledge of IIS administration and Windows Services
• Proficiency in scripting languages: PowerShell, Python, YAML, JSON
• Fundamental understanding of Active Directory and IAM
• Networking fundamentals: DNS, TCP/IP, routing, and firewalls
• Awareness of Disaster Recovery (DR) concepts and testing
