About the role

Role Overview

DevOps Engineer for a fast-scaling, regulated environment where software delivery, bioinformatics pipelines, and cloud infrastructure must be reliable, secure, and traceable. You will own platform infrastructure and CI/CD, build reproducible environments, and improve observability, security, and deployment efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) to automate testing, deployment, and releases across environments.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform for scalable, version-controlled, auditable cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP.
  • Automate deployments and configuration for applications and bioinformatics workflows across containerized/cloud-native setups.
  • Manage containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes, including services such as Google Cloud Run and AWS services.
  • Develop automation scripts in Python and Shell/Bash to reduce manual operations.
  • Improve observability with logging, monitoring, and alerting.
  • Enforce security best practices in CI/CD pipelines, including secrets management, access controls, and vulnerability scanning.
  • Collaborate with engineering/science/operations teams on deployment processes, documentation, and infrastructure standards.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in DevOps/platform engineering/software engineering with strong automation and cloud focus.
  • Strong hands-on CI/CD experience, preferably GitHub Actions (familiar with GitLab CI or Jenkins).
  • Production experience with AWS and GCP.
  • Deep expertise with Terraform.
  • Strong Docker and Kubernetes experience.
  • Proficiency in Python and Shell/Bash.
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
  • Solid understanding of SDLC, Git workflows, and branching strategies.
  • Experience implementing security controls and compliance in cloud/CI-CD contexts.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to produce clear technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with regulated environments (healthcare/clinical diagnostics) is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog (or similar).
  • GitOps practices.
