DevOps Engineer

Role Overview

DevOps Engineer responsible for building and maintaining reliable, scalable infrastructure in a fully remote, international engineering environment. You’ll modernize systems, improve platform stability, and strengthen the security-focused ecosystem, combining infrastructure work with backend development and automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend infrastructure and services
• Develop and enhance product features end-to-end (design → implementation → testing → deployment)
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues by analyzing code, systems, and production environments
• Operate and maintain large-scale server infrastructure (e.g., API gateways, load balancers, internal processing)
• Improve and maintain CI/CD pipelines for efficient, automated, reliable delivery
• Create and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure quality and stability
• Monitor production performance, identify issues/opportunities, and proactively improve reliability
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve architecture, direction, and maintainability
• Support infrastructure modernization by reducing technical debt and simplifying processes

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in backend development, DevOps, or related roles
• Strong proficiency in at least one high-level programming language
• Deep experience designing/operating backend services with scalability, performance, concurrency, and reliability in mind
• Hands-on experience with high-throughput data pipelines (e.g., Apache Kafka, ClickHouse, RabbitMQ)
• Experience with SQL (PostgreSQL) and in-memory databases (Redis)
• Strong understanding of relational databases, NoSQL systems, and key-value storage
• Practical experience with Docker and Docker Compose
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
• Experience with monitoring and observability
• Strong CI/CD practices and automated testing/deployment
• Excellent debugging and analytical skills; ability to identify root causes
• Data-driven mindset using metrics and user feedback
• Strong communication/collaboration in distributed teams
• Upper-intermediate written and spoken English

Nice to Haves

• Experience with Django
• Familiarity with configuration management tools (Puppet, Ansible, Salt, or similar)

• Fully remote with flexible working hours (English required; location listed as United States)
