About the role

Role Overview

DevOps Engineer II to join the FOLIO Operations team, supporting large-scale, cloud-based library platforms in a multi-tenant SaaS environment. You will help maintain and improve the stability, scalability, and performance of the FOLIO Library Management System (open-source, cloud-native).

Responsibilities

Support and maintain highly scalable production systems across multiple products (FOLIO, LOCATE, MetaDB)
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues with a focus on reliability and performance
Build and enhance automation processes using Java, Groovy, and scripting
Manage and optimize AWS infrastructure (CloudFormation, ECS, S3, PostgreSQL, Route53, CloudFront, Load Balancers, Lambda)
Improve CI/CD and deployment workflows to ensure reliable releases via Jenkins
Participate in on-call rotations and respond effectively to incidents
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support customer environments at scale
Assist with API gateway and authentication layers (Kong and Keycloak)
Identify opportunities for operational improvements using AI and automation

Requirements

U.S. Citizenship and willingness to obtain a government security clearance
2+ years of AWS operations/support experience, including ECS, S3, PostgreSQL, and Lambda
Strong proficiency with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Jenkins
Proficiency in Java, Groovy, and scripting languages
Experience with microservices and serverless architectures
Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, JSM)
Strong communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
Ability to manage multiple products simultaneously (preferably 2–3 systems)
Ability to work 8–5 U.S. Eastern time (standard business hours)
