About the role
Role Overview
DevOps Engineer I provides production support for multiple products and production lines. The role includes troubleshooting production system issues, maintaining and improving test automation, and supporting integration work across design, development, and testing.
Responsibilities
- Provide production support for manufacturing and manufacturing engineering teams (on-site and remote).
- Create and maintain scripts to test, update, and image hardware systems using a test automation platform.
- Research, design, test, and evaluate existing automation scripts to ensure future compatibility with new end-user device equipment.
- Configure network, software, and hardware components to meet internal and client requirements.
- Support product validation across unit to system testing, including:
- researching requirements,
- designing test plans,
- building/updating automated testing frameworks,
- enhancing automated scripts for quality.
- Develop and maintain software testing techniques and practices for Linux/UNIX and Windows.
- Troubleshoot test automation failures with internal engineering and customers.
- Create clear work instructions aligned with lean manufacturing practices.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Engineering, Sales Ops, Management) to define requirements and create delivery plans/schedules.
- Support “white box” systems and Tier 1 hardware platforms (e.g., Supermicro, Dell, Lenovo, HPE) and troubleshoot hardware problems.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Typically 0–2 years related experience; DevOps Engineer I level.
- <1 year experience creating shell scripts and automation in Linux and Windows environments.
- Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Understanding of server/PC architecture and networking.
- Experience performing and automating integration, component, system, and unit tests and analyzing results.
- Ability to learn CCI processes for design, development, implementation, testing, and maintaining complex codebases.
- Ability to support integration phases with engineering and customers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for client hardware support.
- Detailed-oriented; capable of independent problem solving and collaborative work.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Information Technology (or equivalent experience).
- Knowledge of working with ERP and PLM systems.
